3 million more people will get military shopping benefits

Starting Jan. 1 2020, all service-connected disabled veterans, Purple Heart recipients, former prisoners of war and primary veteran caregivers will be eligible to shop at commissaries and exchanges.

Ahhh that's ok. Those are private organizations that have exclusive rights to set up shop on military installations. After my stint in the Army, I worked a couple of years for AAFES. Anyone who paid their dues should be allowed access. I was medically retired in '80 and I think the last time I was in a PX or commissary was in '92. I live where it is not convenient to go to one and I am not sure there is any real reason to do so if I did live near one.
