The policy at FT Fisher use to be 14 days and then you had to move and stay gone for two weeks but now you can stay six months.

I feel the same way about Camp Pendleton! Fort Tuthill CG outside of Flagstaff, AZ is very nice. I donít remember the cost. Itís run by the AF.

This is the way that I know to, every base is different and it's up to the commander to okay anything not in the regs, like who can and how long they can stay. In Virginia I was at the beach, the guy next to us was there a year already, he was staying in his trailer instead of military housing.

We like Apache Flats, Ft Huachuca (Sierra Vista, AZ) and DMAFB Famcamp in Tucson. However, the DM site has hard to understand rules about length of stay, doesn’t take reservations, and has a huge overflow where you can wait your turn for nice sites.

There is an Allstays app C-RV MILITARY that is map driven that I use quite a bit. Once you find a campground that looks interesting they have a direct link to the campground. Allstays has several apps you might find interesting.

My favorite MWR FAMCamps

As a previous poster said, Usmilitarycampgrounds.com is the go to source: These are the best I have stayed at so far, in order: Ft Bliss, TX, Ft Story Virginia Beach; Ft Sam Houston TX; Ft Fisher, NC; MCAS Cherry Point NC; Ft Jackson, SC; and FT Bragg NC. Inexpensive, up keep and amenities vary, but you usually can't beat them.

Pensacola NAS is the best we've seen. Mayport Naval Station, FL is very nice right on the St John River and close to Atlantic Beaches. Destin FAMCAMP is also nice but close quarters.

We have used the Navy camps at Kings Creek Campground at Cheatham Annex in Williamsburg, VA and Sea Mist at Dam Neck and really enjoyed them.

Cheatham Annex is about the most quiet Naval Base I've ever been on. But, I'm kind of biased since I drilled there with my Reserve Cargo Handling Unit for 11 years...
The base is close to Busch Gardens, Water Country USA (you drive past it to get to the base) and Colonial Williamsburg, among others.

The Seamist is on Dam Neck and convenient to Virginia Beach.
Both are about $25 a night for full hookups and 50/30 amps.
Least impressed so far - Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, we stayed over Christmas and was severely disappointed. Talk about homesteaders! Some with LP tanks, grills, tarped gear and who knows what else. Don't think we'll darken their driveway again.

Hopes this helps some.

I am retired Air Force, DW and I enjoy going to Corpus Christi Naval Air Station, Texas, the famcamp is located right on the bay. Easy access to North Padre Island National Seashore and all the great seafood the area has to offer. Our favorite hang out is Doc's.

USMC camps are bad

I like seeing people doing there morning runs, and also the reminder of the military regiments. I have even gone to officers and NCO clubs, and even eaten in a mess hall again. Never encounter a bad person yet as a neighbor.... enjoy you have earned it.
We have stayed at several Marine Corps camps. Everyone was not up to standards. Navy camps and Air Force camps are the best.

I also find both Navy and AF. Are the nicest. Never been impressed with the Army Famcamps either been to a few, and I'm Army.

Itís the Navyís Blues at Pensacola, you gotta go a little further west for the Birds, Creech AB, Nevada.

If your near Pensacola, try Tyndall AFB it was a great FC but after Michael not sure, better verify before you go.

Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas ($24) per night and Racoons Creek on MacDill AFB ($21) per night. Both are great.
