USAF Crew Chief/Flight Crew Chief, E-5, B-52G bombers. 1984 -1992. Desert Storm deployed veteran. Forced out due to BRAC in 1992. Would have loved to retire, but the Congress/USAF would not allow it.

Only 60% disabled and got an honorable but out even though I wanted to stay. Sadly, us with minor ratings are not welcome in game camps, have to be 100%.

USN 64 to 68. I was an E-5 ATN (Aviation Electronics Technician) with VF-213 (F-4 Phantoms) out of NAS Miramar. Joined the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club aboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63). On station in the South China Seas 65-66, back to Miramar for a few months, then back to the Tonkin Gulf 66-67. Stayed on station and cross-decked to VF-143 aboard the USS Constellation (CV-64) for the 67 deployment.

Flight deck tech, line shop tech, electronics shop tech, mess deck swab jocky!

Shore Leave; The PI, Yokuska Japan, Hong Kong, Hawii, San Diego, Memphis .......

Got out and went to CSU for BS & MS Degrees in teaching, courtesy of the GI Bill. Never taught a day in my life except for student teaching. Two years Naval Reserve while going to school.

Worked for several years as an RV Tech and Sevice Manager.

Finally got a job with the State of Colorado. Still working at it. Figure that I'll work till I'm 75 or can't find my way to work!

We use to have a poll on here of what branch we all served in, I haven't seen that in years, but if my old memory severs me right, I think NAVY was the biggest. Which really surprised me being the old draft an things, but now it seems all I read is Navy people. Has anyone seen that lately? I'll bet that Navy is still way ahead. GO NAVY, I was Army and drafted and then reenlisted, but my son was Navy. Thanks everyone,

i should have noticed AF hard on deployments, try Navy when you are gone all the time. i was in from 1973 to 1993, i had a stretch of over 10 years continuous sea duty and was forced to shore duty.

Thank you for your submersible service. I was a black shoe in the brown shoe Navy.

Thank you all for your service! I retire next Wednesday, the 28th of March, after 21 years in the Army. I had a great travel agent, “visited” Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait in the last 9 years. I was able to serve with my son in Iraq. My DW and I can’t wait to start using our new TT!
