26 Mar 2007, 0800. Should have been 0730 but civilians had to get their morning work coffee. Fished 4 days a week for 7 months then went to work for local helo finishing company. Got tired of working and quit. Fished some more then youngest daughter talked us into RVing at age 70.

Retirement of navy

My retirement is so far in the rear that it now seems like a 2 week vacation.
Retired October 8, 1977 after 24 years in USN. Started my own business sales & service of TWO-WAY communication equipment. A lot to the government for Drug interdiction, ETC. Ran successful business for 28 yrs. Retired from it in 2006.

PS: Visited 31 countries during my Naval tour of duty.

We retired a little over three years ago at 56. We got caught up on long put off chores, then hit the road as often as we can afford to. We can't stay home too long as then the family thinks we are there to do their chores since we are retired and have time!!! LOL!!!

Seems like we are busier now than when we were working, but that is a good thing, since now we are doing what WE want. Time does fly though, so we are trying to make it count.

Through RVing, NASCAR, and bowling, we have met fantastic friends all over the country, so there is always somewhere to go and people to enjoy time with.

Have fun!!!

Unfortunately, this isn't a real retirement..just retiring from the Navy. We are moving from Va to Tn and I start my new civilian job on July 29.
