Navy Vets

Served in the USN from 1965-69 aboard USS Little Rock (CLG-4) and the USS MacDonough (DLG-8). After the service, I was an electrician for 37 years working construction on air ports, power plants, auto assembly plants and commercial buildings. Our building trades offered asbestosis screening to its members. Everyone that served aboard ships tested positive! Those old Navy ships were loaded bow to stern with the stuff. Do yourself and DW a favor and get checked out.

Most of my Guard time was Alaska Air National Guard. C-130 loadmaster for most of that time. Got to see about 45 countries during that time.

Asbestosis

I would get checked out, asbestosis can lead to mesothelioma. If you are a Veteran, the VA would probably be your best bet to get a chest x-ray. Our Building Trades contacted us through our Union and set up appointments when the mobile x-ray was in Kansas City. All of us are represented by a law firm that is working to submit claims to collect for us from the Asbestos Trust. My exposure was primarily from the ships i served on and the power house work I did.

Army vet and damn proud of it HOOHA!! A little over 28 years and multiple tours. What a life. The VA sucks big time, but other than that life's good. Nobody shooting at me, as long as I don't go the Chicago .
