Sound Off!!

All right Vets. Time to let us know what branch you served in! For our friends to the of the border, please add to the poll the branch you served as well. I'm leaving the branch's general with no US or Can so we can all be included.
Right now this thread is just what branch. Duty stations, jobs, and other threads to follow. We wouldn't want to use it all up in one thread now would we??

Red face

Oh Geez, I just knew being a spoiled rotten Canadian Viet Nam era hippie would come back to haunt me. Well if it's any excuse I don't think we actually had an army back then.

Having said that, I'm damn proud of the young men and women wearing the maple leaf in their Afganistan mission today. They've taken some hard Taliban hits there lately but do us proud every day.

Dang skippy!! We should be VERY proud of ALL of our service men and women putting themselves in harm’s way. We may not all agree on the war and why it was started in the first place but we ALL need to support those who are making a huge sacrifice for our countries so that we may live free from the fear of roadside bombs in our city streets and neighborhoods.

side by side and may we always remain that way

Oh I have NO problem with the Afgani mission... the people of most of the country truly needed the Taliban idiots removed. Sadly Afganistan, like most of the Middle East, is a creature of badly and artifically drawn borders, placing sworn enemies together under a single government/king/dictator. In Kandahar province, where the Canadian troops are based, the taliban is actually viewed sympathetically by the people, which gives the troops great problems. Elsewhere, the people love the fact they're gone, and other NATO troops - Germans, etc, - have no battles or threat of any kind. Mind you, those NATO countries are not keen in moving into Kandahar to help out the Canadians, US and British troops either. How the hell can our guys make a peace in the midst of that!!

Hmmm, getting politcal. Sorry. This site is about camping dammit.
