Welcome to the forum, my dad worked on 130s while stationed at Pope. Even traveled to Marietta Georgia to help update maintenance manuals in late 80’s. Amazing that we still use 70 year old planes, we both were stationed at Minot so yes I know the B 52 is older but still going don’t make them like they used too

I drove a desk in the USN for 22 years. I did more for the war fighters when I went to Kuwait as a senior civilian, making sure they had a place to sleep, eat, and crap, than I ever did as a sailor.

USAF acquisitions officer for 4 years in the 1980's. It was very cool one day years later to hear on the news about one of our main projects, Joint STARS, deployed during Desert Storm, even though it was still in development. Provided a chance to "battle test" it:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northr...-8_Joint_STARS

(Yes, I flew a desk, but my vision was not good enough to fly. I hear now that some pilot candidates can get LASIK and are good to go...)

SEMPERFI8387 where were you stationed? I was A4 avionics 6312 88-93. I'm sure we might have served with a few of the same people. I was in Alameda, MAG-42.

Gotta love army job nomenclature.
I started as a
"Non-morse communications intercept operator"
and then trained as an
"Electronic warfare, communications intercept systems repairer."
