Three combat tours in Vietnam as an airborne Pathfinder with the 11th Pathfinder Company, 1st Cav. Div. Airborne. I logged 61 combat assaults while with the 1st Cav. The Pathfinders made 13 combat jumps with several being night jumps at 800 or 900 feet for recons.
I served through the 1968 TET Offensive around Hue.
I returned to FT Bragg, NC. as a S.E.R.E instructor to finish my enlistment and went to work as a pilot for the government.

1983 - 1991 Infanteer, 2BN Royal Canadian Regiment and 3 CDO Canadian Airborne Regiment. After an interesting parachute decent, it was time for something safer so I went MP from 1991 to 2016. Last five years, I had the opportunity to be the Pl WO for the Integrated Personnel Support Centre (a fancy name for a unit that supported troops who were medically releasing), and from the troops returning from the sandbox, we got real busy.

I so want to make some snide comments about my AW (Arse Wart) friends. I shall refrain though. Seriously though, you Aviation Wastes were awesome. And I still have AW buds that I am friends with. I was an AD.

Nope, not a flyer or aircrew. Just a wrench turner on H-3's, 60B's, F's and H-s, some on the H-1 and H-2. My time was all West coast.

Wow Zipmart, you seriously just brought back some memories. I used to work on those exact Skyhawks as an Avionics Tech in the Marine Corps. I was stationed at NAS Alameda, MAG-42. I got to the MAG in 89. Served active duty 5 years, 88-93'.
