USAF Radio Operator
I was stationed at Travis AFB, CA working at the MARS Station from 76-78. While there I volunteered for the Honor Guard and was honored to carry off the remains of our service members who were killed in Vietnam. A more somber job I have never done before.
Bought my first motorcycle there driving around Lake Berryessa and Napa Valley on the twisties. It was a 74 Kawasaki KZ-400, but I have since purchased a 90 Harley Davidson FLHTC and have owned and fixed it for over 20 years, putting over 130K miles on it.
In 78, I was transferred to RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk County, England and served 2 years there working at Mildenhall Giant Talk. Part of the job served the 9th Reconnaissance Wing relaying messages from the Command Post to and from the SR-71 and U-2 flying missions over Russia and other countries. We also sent hourly messages to B52 bombers and ICBM silos.
Spent too much time in the pubs for my own good, but did some traveling around the country in the car I purchased there, 62 Austin A40 named Basil. Sadly I took an early out from my 6 year enlistment, looking back, I should have re-enlisted. Met and maintain friendships with men I was stationed with.
My Ham license is W9FLT. And best friend is K2AMF, but the AMF is not the Harley one!

Started my military career in 1979 (Great Lakes). Did 21 years in the Navy as an Aviation Electronics Tech on E2C's, C2A's and as a NAMTRAGRU Instructor in Norfolk, and then finally on P3C's in Brunswick. When the P3's were being moved to Florida I transferred to the Maine Army National Guard, spent 4 years there as a mechanic, supply sargeant and armorer.
After 24 years total I retired. Guess that makes me retired NARMVY

Served my first 11 years as a personnel clerk/chief in various assignments. I was then appointed a WO and became the Personnel Officer for an Infantry Battalion. While there, I was appointed a 1stLt (LDO). I then served a tour as the Personnel Officer for the Officer Procurement Branch at HQ Marine Corps followed by my final tour as the Personnel Officer for the 6th Marine Corps District in Atlanta, GA. I retired in the rank of Captain. BTW, when I retired, my wife and I decided to stay in Atlanta, and we still live in the same house we bought in 1989.

I worked in JSOC, US Army side: I had a chance to work with some USMC dog handlers in Iraq: It was an eye opening exp for me as I had never worked with dog handlers at that time
I wrote a book based upon that experience Hit me with a PM, lets talk
