My new 2-wheeled toy

Brought her home on Friday in 27 degrees. figured if I didn't do it then, it would be sitting at the dealer until March or so. My first fairing bike, what a difference!

I did this morning before I went to work!

Actually I started it up, I wanted to see if the iPhone would charge when it was plugged in to the USB port in the fairing while the engine was running (it does.). Harley really has thought of everything with the 2014s. Bluetooth. Fairing power port. Cruise. Open/close able split stream fairing vent. Is it spring yet?

Thanks for the compliments. Blue just always winds up being my color...

I had the father of all decent fairings, a Vetter, on my '72 Yamaha 650. It replaced a piece of junk Bates fairing. On the Vetter, the headlight and turn signals had to be rewired, since they were part of the fairing, but with storage compartments and windshield vents, it was heaven.

Me too. I was pretty much anti-Harley until a few months ago. I was totally happy with my Suzuki Boulevard M50. Then my buddy with a Road King mounted an amp and some saddlebag speakers. I thought, "That's pretty cool, I can do that." So I started shopping for hard bags and an amp for the Suzuki. That got to be tedious. Then my wife decided she was going to trade in her Boulevard S40 for a Sportster 883 Iron. And that was the beginning of the end for my Suzuki. The SG just called to me...

Rockford: that fairing is just nuts! You were the coolest of the cool back then riding on that setup!

Oh, I hear you. I grew up working in the MC industry and was a staunch Metric bike enthusiast. After about 40+ years of that... The wife and I bought Harleys.

Let's just say there are motorcycles. And there are Harleys. Until you own one, you have no idea what it really means.

Mine was a 1995 Ultra that I converted to a Street Glide ('Glides are sooooo sweet!) and the wife's was a 2009 Deluxe. In a brief fit of senility, we sold them to move back home to Fort Worth. Now... there isn't a day goes by that I don't think of my 'Glide and ache to get another.

Ride safe!

Very nice!

We had a Harley once. It was a 1976 Sportster, Iron head, 999 cc, rigid frame, kick start, LOUD, piece of s**t! Don't get me wrong, it was pretty to look at, but it was literally a pain in the butt! We bought it for $3500, put $15,000 in it, then sold it for $4500. It definitely lived up to the old saying, "ride it a mile, push it the rest".

We now have a 2005 Honda VTX 1800R. We LOVE it! Turn a key, push a button, and go! Never any issues. Just fun!

If I can EVER figure out how to put a pic in a post, I'll post up some pics.

So this is the "new" Honda. Please excuse the white truck, we no longer have it.

Congrats! I have a 2003 100th Anniversary Ultra Classic that I bought new while stationed overseas in the USAF. The fun part of ownership is customizing it to your taste and the nice people you'll meet on the road!

Looks good, Zhanna! I'm always jealous of motorcycle riders. We do a charity event called the Ride for Kids each year. My daughter rides in a side car as one of the events "stars". My wife and other family members have ridden on the back of bikes in the past. Good stuff and raises money for a good cause (Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation).

That's cool!

I love riding on the back of the motorcycle! It's the only time I don't have to actually DO anything, but hang on!

I can certainly understand and agree with that. I grew up on two-stroke enduro's. Spent my fair share kick-starting them.

Even though I have a dual-sport now, I can't ever imagine going back to anything without an electric start.

Mine is a 2009 Harley Ultra Classic. Installed the detachable Tour Pack kit to make it look like a Street Glide when I want. Put the Tour Pack on when I need the storage room. Wife prefers to ride with the Tour Pack on.
