2109s Question

Does anyone with a 2109s use a generator? How do you transport it? There are so many small 2000 watt models out there I am wondering if anyone is using the outside underbed storage compartment to stow it in when traveling?

Thanks in advance!

We use a champion 4000 watt gen we use for our 21FBRS. Can't run the microwave but can run everything else. We leave it in the back of the truck. We unhook and park in the back away from the bedroom. Get 12 hrs per tank in the summer w AC.

You don't want a Champion 4000 if you are in a campground. It's an open frame contractor-style generator which is too loud.
It's fine for motor race events, boondocking in dispersed areas or for home backup power.
I know cause I own one. Plus it weighs 100lbs.

I have a Honda 2000i that I use for campgrounds.
I'm assuming that you have a SUV and not a truck. Most smaller inverter generators have a vent cap you can shut off to prevent fumes from escaping.
I've transported mine in our car without issues.
My Rockwood is of similar size.

Agree with you on the 4000 W generator. I am looking for something small and quiet. We do have a 100 W solar panel and two 6V Trojan batteries but are planning a cross country trip this fall (Maine to California) and would like to have some additional power options. My big question is how do folks transport their generators? We have a new Tahoe and I don't really want to carry it inside......

My Honda 2000i has a shut off on the vent cap. So no gas fumes.
Some SUV owners put theirs in a plastic tub with lid.

great idea! When I get our camper out of storage, I'll remeasure the basement door opening too. That is where I would prefer to store it.

We use 2 Honda 2000 with parallel cables. We've always just kept them in the back of the pickup. We can run everything, just not all at once. Like we have to shut off AC if we use the microwave but we don't use it much so not really an issue for us, also can't use a hair dryer with the AC on. Otherwise everything runs fine.

We have the Flagstaff version of the 2109s. Same except for the stickers

We use a Champion 2000w inverter generator for charging our batteries when Boondocking for long periods. We parallel it with another one and we can run the air conditioning
