Anybody ever put a pool in their p/u bed?

Discovered this online yesterday and ordered it, doing my part to stimulate the economy. $37.30 on Amazon yesterday. https://www.polygroup.com/truckbedpool

Last year at Goshen FROG rally, it was miserably hot with extreme humidity. I'll be prepared this year! This is for a 5.5' bed and mine is 6.5'. I'll buttress one end with a piece of plywood and my ratcheting cargo bar.

Hmmmmmm.

What’s the water capacity for those with 5th wheels?

Asking for a friend.

Cool

Conversely, we were at a campground last week, and there was a Class A that had an inflatable hot tub set up on the patio next to their rig.

No, not one of those. I have thought of one of these, though, when I saw one on display at Costco last month.

Would love to see the look on the campground host's face when I started filling one from their water supply.

Yeah, that might get some negative attention from the park. At least in the p/u bed it's less obvious. I keep laughing thinking of this scene from Father of the Year.

can your truck handle the weight? that pool holds around 370 gallons. 8.34 lbs. per gallon of water x 370 gallons = 3086 lbs. I know you are not driving with that load, but unless you are in the HD truck category, I'm pretty sure you will be resting on the bump stops.

looks like good fun to enjoy with someone else's truck!

About 25 years ago, in a bad heatwave (for Maine), I simply duct taped all the seams and filled up my 1 ton bed with water for a couple of neighbor kids.
They loved it!
(Also note that a "heatwave" in Southern Maine is temps above 90 for more than one day. No one has air conditioning...)

All my FROGS are invited to the pond! As far as what to do with the water when done. Wash dishes? Use it to wash the truck? Most likely back up to a woodline and drain it. I only plan on filling it maybe 2/3-3/4 of the way, as people in it will displace more water. Goshen might be only place I will use it, as you don't need a vehicle once you get there for most part, and we are there all week.

I fear the fish hooks might prove troublesome with the inflated sides....

Our 2500 has a cargo weight of 3168. It has the tow package which includes an extra leaf in each spring which is only active when the truck is heavily loaded.

Our grandson and I were building a deck in summer 2020 and I had 90 freshly-treated 2x6x10s in it as well as half a dozen 2x6x16s. It was down to the overloads but the bed was dead level, not sagging. As the lumberyard owner was racking up the charges, I mentioned weight and he said, "Just at 3000 lbs." Our grandson is slender, like me--we each weigh about 165 lbs. He asked me, "Which of us is going to walk home?" We drove it (12 miles), but the front end was sure light.

Reminds me of back in the day, stationed at Ft Bragg. We would give the Supply Sergeant a 6 Pack to get a self-help ticket. We'd take the self-help ticket to Post Engineers and get a roll of 6 mil visqueen and line our truck beds with two layers of it. It worked! Had to be careful not to put too much water in as you could easily overload the pickup. We'd park the trucks on the company street and sit in the back drinking beers. Probably wouldn't be allowed today.

Just be advised, while salespeople will tell you, "Fill it up from the creek in the morning and you have a hot tub ready that night" it is false. It takes about three days for those hot tubs that use the pump motor heat generation to come up to temperature. Now if you fill it up through a tankless water heater, you can go from cold creek water to hot tub in one day.

I will DEFINITELY do that. I missed out on the Tiki bar doing other stuff last year, and there was no Phrog pond last year.
