Awning cover recommendations?? any good tips??

Looking to get or make an awning cover to extend the life of my awning. I have looked online and they sell covers that clip over and also heard that white flex PVC landscaping flexible tubing cut can spread and cover when in storage or maybe even vinyl sign material (can probably get in the full 16' length and roll up easily). The awning always wears out and rips on the top edge that is exposed to the sun. Any feedback or recommendations will be appreciated.

You might consider PVC insulation cover... it slips on and is cheaper than the "redi-made" covers at $75.00

You can buy it at an insulation distributor in your town
