We usually plan for "free" overnight parking if we're not planning on staying. I use Overnight RV Parking to find places to stay.
Anything in Southern Calif we definitely make reservations.

I see that site charges 25.00. Is it worth it, do you think? We may have to try it for our big trip next Summer.

I think it's worth it. We used it 3 or 4 times last year on a 4 week trip. Planning an 8 - 10 week trip this year we've picked out a few places we're going to stay. In one town they had Walmart and Home Depot listed. Walmart had a bunch of overnighters, we were the only ones at the Home Depot - much quieter.

The last two camp sites I just called the day of and got right in. They required no cc. Just took my name. The last one, coastal rv, across from st George island Florida, was on July 4. Brand new. Marble showers brick pavers pool club house 35 dollars was magnificent.... Right on the bay. I just gave them my name and the little envelope was waiting. Hard to leave. Here's a pic across the water. Click image for larger version

Does anyone know if the buccaneer walk in camp sites on the beach near Biloxi Mississippi r usually filled up? Looks like a state park with a wave pool. I bet Labor Day chances r toast
