Dometic fridge not draining - Fixed!

Just thought I'd pass this on in case some other poor soul has a similar issue.
My Dometic fridge in my 2021 Della Terra 271BH recently drained the excess water into the fridge and subsequently onto the camper floor. Little did we know, but the fridge had never been draining properly, but because we never had enough water back up in the drain tray, we never realized it until this incident. Turns out that when FR built the trailer, instead of pulling the drain hose down and trimming off the excess, some brilliant technician coiled up the excess hose and stuffed it up above the coils which also was above the drain point. When we finally had enough water build up that didn't just sit in the part of the hose that was lower than the drain, it backed up, spilled over and out the fridge door it went! Fix was to pull the hose down straight where it should have been in the first place, trim the excess and Bob's your Uncle! I feel kind of silly for not checking for a poorly routed drain line in the first place Yet another minor item in a long list that confirms that I will not purchase another Forest River East to West product.

Glad you got it fixed.

When we picked up our REV, I'd looked at pictures and the brochure and knew that it should have a drain hose poking through the vent on the back of the refrigerator. Opened it up and found that the hose had been poked back behind the vent where the water would have dripped onto the floor.
In our case, I suspect that it was done on the rv lot because someone thought it 'unsightly' or just because....

I failed to point out that the drain line was sticking out of the fridge vent area, so it appeared to be properly installed and routed. That's why I didn't think to check to see if was improperly installed before. Thanks to my better half for thinking to do that!
