If your just going to use the TV;water pump; furnace; lights; microwave; and not the air conditioner a small 1000-1500 k should be enough. The air conditioner uses a lot of power and then you would need close to 3 0r 4 K. The Hondas are the quietest and are fuel efficient. Make sure you get one with a couple of outlets(circuits) so you can plug in more than one cord.

I saw that Cabela's had a 3500 watt generator for 350 bucks. Shipped to my door it quoted out at 410ish. It is a Champion branded one that I have not really heard of. Looks like a pull start only but if a guy was "roughing it" without power maybe you could pull the cord a few times. Anyhow here is the link advice would be great!! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...ator&noImage=0

I had been watching that same generator on Cabela's and I think last week they had it down to $299!! Wish I had grabbed one then because I am needing one that can do everything and run the microwave and A/C at the same time. This generator can do that. Now if I wanted to run them at different times I could go down to a 3,000Watt but for the price that Champion sure looks good!!

I just do not know if I really need a generator. I like the unit from cabelas because I know they will stand behind it. It would be nice to have in case of a bad storm knocking out power (in my little town of 600). I could plug in the RV and stay in there instead of the house without power LOL!!!

We use the Yamaha 2800, it's big enough to run the AC and light enough to move yourself. It also fits in the front compartment of our 5th Wheel.

we picked up a knock off on e-bay 3kw $230 no shipping plenty of outlets plus 12v charger capable if your car battery or other 12v needs help. It runs our AC and anything else except a hair dryer and the AC at the same time. We are happy with it as long as we have it on the back sde of the camper it can be a little loud but no horrible.

I just bought the Champion ( http://www.partsamerica.com/productd...sduidp0t769413 ) from Kragen. This is a great deal with a rebate of $150.00. I paid $349 at the store, so when rebate comes, final price will be about $199.00. I've heard if you buy on-line and pick up in store the price is $299.00 with the same $150.00 rebate making the final $149.00 ( http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/815686/ ). If I had the $$$, I would go with the dual Honda EU2000i set-up, but this will do just fine for me.
I would really like to perm attach it up from near the tanks, but there is not much room up there on my Salem 26TBSS. So I'm really thinking about this neat little mod ( http://rvpics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=392 ). Has anyone here done something like this?

What a bargain! I spent $279, on sale at TSC, about a month ago for the same generator. It is still in the box. Waiting to pickup up new toy hauler to put it in.

For a hundie, I would consider taking it back and/or asking for the difference. What do you have to lose? It's still in the box for crying out loud! Chances are they will honor it or at least give you store credit. Don't most toy haulers come with gen-sets?

We have had very good luck with the 3000ti kipor. I worried about some of the cheaper ones being hard on electronics like my laptop. We have our camper in an area without power. We run our gen a couple of times a weekend for a short time. This one is very quiet. Some of the construction grade gens are pretty loud.

One thing to consider. For about the same money as the EU3000 you can have two EU2000. The pair weighs less than the one bigger unit- 50# each and easier to load and store.. Use just one when you don't need a/c. Use both together and you have more power than the 3,000.
In favor of the 3000 it is slightly quieter, and has larger fuel capacity, and electric start.

dual Honda EU2000i
I did not like coughing up the $$. We bought a pair of EU2000i generators.
As required, we use one or both generators. Very quiet, very reliable, I have had two generators before these, and am very very happy with the Hondas. Have had them for a year, and wouldnt be without them. I have a backflip lockable topper and have the generators chained and locked in the front of the truck bed. I used to leave them at home when camping at electrified sites but a storm and power outage last year prompted me to take 'em.
Happy Camping!
