Hanging a camp sign

So as a spur of the moment purchase when we were in the black hills we bought one of these high priced signs

I took off last name. At any rate any ideas for displaying at campsite, my DW is on my back to figure out a way to display on labor day. Any suggestions? If I had a 5er figured I could tap in some picture hanger eyebolts and hang on hitch pin. Want to make something that will secure it from twisting and swaying in the wind and getting beat up.

We use two shepherd hooks that were purchased at the dollar store. They are about 2ft high. Put an eye bolt in each end of the sign and hand from hooks. Work great with the sign at the front of our TT.

I concur. 2 eyebolts,a chain and one shepherds hook. Works like a charm.

With only one sheperd's hook, it will twist and turn. OP wants it to stay straight.

I hang ours on the propane tank cover. I use a couple of long tie wraps on the chain and put them over the thumb screws on the access cover.

I used 2 large brass "L" hooks screwed into top opposing each other. Slips onto the pin box lip. Works great, out of the way & it don't get left behind when breaking camp!

Thank you all for replies! Any ideas for a stand alone type? A couple things to mention:

If its on the front of TT nobody can read, cause f250 in front of trailer. If its hanging by top only, it can twist. Was trying to think of a way you can put close to road and be supported by 4 positions to hang straight and unaffected by wind . Hmmm...

That is why I use 2 small shepherd hooks. Can be put anywhere on your site and not affected by wind.

PVC pipe camping sign holder

Saw a neat one in Memphis, TN at the Graceland Campground. Unfortunately did not get a picture. It was made from PVC pipe, was tall enough to hang the sign and their dog's names below. It looked like it was made from 1 1/2" PVC pipe.
Here is a picture of a similar project, you could modify the height and leg dimensions to suit your sign.

This came from another camper solving a problem they had, pretty neat. Check out the Instructable the guy wrote up here:
PVC iPad holder and mount for tent camping
Here is another possibility, closer to what I'm thinking of. Extend the height, extend the leg length, couple of "S" and eye hooks and away you go. The top (Photo A) photo is what I'm trying to get across.

I've been thinking of making something similar for our sign.

Hope this helps some.

We used large cup hooks and hung the sign on a garden flag holder. This is a pic of our old sign. Click image for larger version

We use something similar to this
Bear Welcome Sign Statue - Garden Statues at Hayneedle

There's a lot of RVers around here that use ones like ours. There's a guy at a local flea market that makes them out of wood. His are about 3' high) and he sells them for less than $50.

Wish I hsd our camper here to take pic but I'll try and explain. DH built one out of PVC with a light at the top. Looks almost like a cross with one arm longer than the other to accomodate our sign. Main pole is anchored by a toilet flange that allows you to stake it in the ground. It seperates into 2 pieces of easy storage. We normally put it at the beginning of the drive so its always easy to find our site at night.

Similar to the wooden light pole my brother & s-i-l had. There were a solar light that sat on top of the pole to light up the sign. The was a round plated bottom to keep it standing up. It all came apart for storage.

we bought a fishing rod holder, made to hold 3 rods, the chain on the sign loops over where the rods lay. It has 2 steel legs that stick into the ground. It cost about $10 at Academy Sports store, maybe at bass pro and other stores also. It wa yellow but I painted it black.
