IRV Radio

We just picked up a 2020 Micro Lite 25FBLS, used, and cannot get the remote to work with the radio. I pulled the unit out and unplugged it for over 5 minutes, still to luck. It is a 32V2. TIA for any help.

Just to be sure:
- Does the radio work properly when using the buttons on the front?
- Did you put fresh batteries in the remote? The correct way??

If the answer to those is "yes", then I really don't have a clue what might be happening. Perhaps you can find someone (or a dealer) with a remote you can borrow to see if a different remote will work properly.

I searched Amazon and found you can buy a new remote (for what I think is a ridiculous amount of $'s):

Maybe a local RV dealer can get you a new remote cheaper?

The other option is to get the iRV app on your phone and use that to control the radio. I have proven that it works fine with my phone, but I don't really listen to the radio much so I usually just use the remote. The primary problem with the app is that you can't turn the radio ON with it. You need to power up the radio some other way before the app will work properly.

Yes, the radio functions properly using the buttons on the front.
Yes, I have replace the battery twice and inserted it the correct way.

I have searched for the reset button that I have seen people talk about on the interwebs but cannot find it. I did manage to pull the face off of the bottom portion of the unit, but nothing was marked as Reset.

I did download the app and it seems to work fine, except trying to power up like you mentioned.

Here's a question for you, when you press a button on the remote does the red light light up? Ours does not.

I had my wife check because she is at the trailer now (seasonal lot) and I am not... She claims that nothing lights up on the remote when she uses it. The radio lights up the same as if you hit the power button on the radio itself.

If your trailer is under warranty, can you take the remote to the dealer and get a replacement? I'm guessing they would have at least one trailer with the same radio that they could use to prove your remote does or does not work. If the trailer they have in stock has a remote that works, just tell them you'll take that one and they can work on getting a replacement for their trailer.

Another thought just occurred to me - Did you inspect the IR receiver spot on the front of the radio to make sure there was nothing covering it? It's a long shot, but maybe something is covering that little spot just enough that the radio is not "seeing" the signal.

Even though it is a 2020 it is a used unit. I'll have to check to see if the warranty we purchased covers it, but that is a $100 deductible.

I'll check to make sure the IR is not blocked by anything. Although I was right in front of the radio yesterday pushing buttons like crazy.

Went to the dealer last night. It looks like the remote was bad. They had a remote in a unit they had ordered a new radio system so they sold me that remote for $5. I didn't complain at all.

You can push a button on the remote and not see the blinking light on the front of the remote with your naked eye, but if you open the camera on your phone and use it to view the light you can see it blinking. Learned something new.

If you have an iPhone you can download the IRV app. It works via Bluetooth. Same functions as the remote.
