True. I was literally like 1 minute later. We were outside sitting around when they were leaving and I pointed out the wood...then it began.

My trouble was she had her cell phone. The things I heard all the way back to get her I can't repeat here.

I am highly uncomfortable that this Thread exists.
And that's all I have to say at this time.

Now, that's what camping is about. Nice!

I should have known better. I hope whoever found it will enjoy it as I had for so long.
I'm wondering if i'm the only one this has happened to? I was so careful before leaving. I walked around the TT 4 times and the wife at least that many times before pulling out. I keep telling myself I will get over this once I find just the right replacement.

Never come across a fire poker, but a lot of water pressure regulators! Was at a campground in Oregon last summer and found one at my sight. Took it up to the office and the girl at the desk tagged it with a date and site number. She said they call the number used for the reservation, but most people don't want them back. She had a whole shelf full of them.

Well, I called this morning (Lake Fort Smith State Park) and gave them my info (campsite #15). She said she would let me know if found.
Others posting their misfortunes have lifted my spirit. I'm ready to move on and put this in the past and find a new replacement before our next outing in 3 weeks. Thanks for the replies - they've been a hoot.

Fire pokers are easy. Just need a cutting torch and a 3/4 inch rebar about 3 feet long. Make a 90' bend at one end, and curl the other end back on itself for a 'handle'.

We broke camp after a long outing and headed home, I keep thinking, I had left something behind, but could not think what it might be. At home a few days later, I could not find my rechargeable flashlight, I could see it lying on the electrical box where I had place it early in the morning when unhooking the trailer. I was sick, but just had to suck it up. The following spring when I was getting the inside of camper ready for another trip, I picked up a folded blanket from the couch and guess what rolled out, my flashlight.

I would see that as an opportunity to buy a new flashlight. You can't have too many, you know. Of course, the wife would disagree.

I have about 3 fire pokers. They are all wood. 2 of them I found on the ground, generously donated by a nearby tree. The other one I believe used to be the handle to a shovel.

When I read the title of this post, I thought YOU were left behind at the campsite! Now that's REALLY forgetful. OTOH, it might be a good way to end a relationship

You know, I have the same kind of poker. Bought for a fireplace in 1982 and now a traveling campfire poker. I would not want to lose it. So, you have my sincere condolences.
With two sets of eyes on packup, haven't left anything behind yet. Hope it stays that way.
