If this is one of those wire cutters that heat up, I have one. Okay on regular foam. Was of no use on the memory foam.

Made a queen memory foam a short queen today by cutting off 5 inches using a fish filet knife with 8 inch blade. Heated blade with propane torch and it cut like butter! Don't breath fumes.

As others have suggested, the best way to cut foam is with an electric carving knife. Done it many times and the cut is very easy and precise.

Not sure what the hang up is on making it pretty. I'm a first born/perfectionist. I cut the foot of our 3" topper with cooling beads down with a box cutter. I took two or three passes that weren't quite all even. Then I took the cut end and turned it to the headboard. Even when the bed is not made, you won't know it's cut to fit...

I did the exact same thing. It isn't the prettiest of jobs, but I really don't care. It is always covered by the bedding anyway.

Didn't have to cut ours. It fit right out of the box. 4 inch from Walmart. We're happy. We bought one for our house bed from Sams. Also 4 inch. We like it.
