My Satellite tailgater stand

I was getting ready to purchase a Tailgater satellite stand for 90$ at Camping World when my son suggested using a snare drum stand that we got for him when he was a child. He wanted to play drums but gave that up so its been in storage for 15 years. It actually works pretty good for a cheap stand. The dish fits perfectly and allows me to get it off of the ground. I had some aluminum stakes that I used to anchor it down. You can get these fairy cheap at a pawn shop or online purchase. Something to save a few bucks Not sure why pictures are sideways but you get the idea..

You have a clever son. Great solution and it's now 'repurposed.'

I will tell you as a drummer for the last 50 years that while a good stand for now, that thing will eventually corrode badly in the rain and humidity. All of my chrome stands corrode even when stored inside if they are meticulously maintained.

I'm guessing you'll probably want to keep an eye out for another solution once this one is no longer viable. Otherwise, great idea!

I agree, great solution and cheap also!
BUT I have never understood the necessity some folks feel to raise their mobIle satellite dishes off the ground a foot or so.
I have watched my friends putz around with their stands and anchors daily. And redo them after every storm....
Me? I have been putting them directly on the ground for years. Occasionally on the roof, strapped down, when in close quarters.

I'd be worried about it being top heavy. I have the Playmaker tripod - they include a center tie down to something that looks like a corkscrew, like you'd use for a dog run.
