Plugged in or not
So for those that park there RV at home. Do you keep your RV plugged in or do you just park it like I do at storage and just flip the disconnect switch.

I plug it in...seems to be that I am always in there doing one thing or another, sometimes we have coffee in the trailer, or I will go in there to tune in to a baseball game, so I just leave it plugged in. Had an electrician come in and install a 30amp service on the side of the house. Then we leave the fridge running between trips and dont have to empty it. Have often wondered if there is possibility of overcharging the battery but have been told repeatedly that wont happen, so I trust it...but our last deep cycle battery only lasted 2 yrs..it was the original one that came with the 5th, so that may be part of it.

I keep mine plugged in also. I, like WFD, am also in and out the camper. We use it when we BBQ, we turn on the music pull out the fire pit and relax.

Mines plugged in always. In fact, my old tt never had the fridge off except to defrost once or twice a year. Just keep up on battery checks (which I'm not good at doing) ABCs it should be great

I didn't with the old one, but seem to be hanging out in the new one more. In fact tonight I was doing a little housekeeping and ended up plugging in, kicking back, ordered pizza and watched a movie.
So who knows. I've talked for years about getting an outlet installed for it, once it gets warm and I want to run the AC I just might have to upgrade from the 15A extension cord.

I would not listen to that. If your converter is a WFCO it will stay at 13.6 volts absorption mode. It will boil your batteries. In WFCO manual it will state that the unit can not read any parasites for 48 hrs to drop to 13.2 trickle charge. So if your CO detector or your radio is on you will stay 13.6. I would keep my eye on the batteries. That could be why your batteries only lasted 2 years. Look up on the internet I think it is called a battery plus that you just hook up to the batteries and it will keep your plates clean. I think I paid $45.00 but got rid of it when I switched to the Progressive that has the desalination mode built in. It's a true 4 stage charger. Forest River is trying them out on the there new Fd3 units.(I think they are called that or an FR3). The next big improvement will be the jack antenna on all units.

Mine is plugged in. It is my escape from it all. I have the Dish hooked up also so I can just go out and watch a show and enjoy a beverage.

 For our 5th wheel.. and when friends or relatives that are visiting need power..  ..I keep my eye on the "water level" of the battery ...and am usually plugged in.

Mine is not plugged in because I do not yet have a 30 amp receptacle for it.
I will plug it in today because it is sinking into the water logged ground so I need to raise it up before it gets to low.
I could run a 120 cord and leave it plugged in but I do not want the plug and adapter to get wet laying on the ground.

Plug it in until I winterize. Then, remove the battery, keep the fridge propped, and unplug it for the winter.

Mine is in the yard and has a cover on it. I keep it plugged in and run a small squirrel type fan to keep air moving through the camper.

plugged in 90% of the time. Like others have said, always some type of project to do in there. Can run the AC to work and clean in there comfortably. Turn both fridges on day or two before we go camping to load.

Ours is in storage so disconnect for me. When I had a smaller unit and stored it at home I did keep it plugged in. It did have an adverse effect on the battery but it sure was nice to have such a big "man cave" available when desired. At least the newer RV in storage is close to my work. I frequently visit, and weather permitting, eat lunch a take and quick power nap.

Unplugged and battery disconnect engaged...doesn't take me but a few minutes to power up and open all slides if I need to get inside for something.
