Tigger1, do you know if your 2104S has the same slide out as a 2109S?

We have a 2109S on order, and I wanted to replaced the "couch" that comes in the slide with a set up like yours, very nice by the way or something more comfortable with higher backs on the seats.

I read where the slide out motor might be in the way on some models, thinking the 2104 and 2109 may have the same slide and was wondering if you ran into an issue with the slide motor...

Thanks!
In April we met a couple at a campground we were staying who had a new 2109s. We went inside and lifted the sofa up to see if he could do the same as ours but unfortunately the slide motor is under there. They were disappointed. We got lucky with the 2104s not having the motor there because when we bought it we had not considered loveseat recliners at that point in time.

Maybe someone else with a 2109s can chime in with a possible solution.

I have the same question... my door is only 26" wide... most recliners & loveseats / theatre seats require a 30" door to get them in or out.

This loveseat recliner set comes in five sections. Two backs, left seat, right seat, and console. My door is 24” wide and the seats are a little under 24” when measured from floor to top of arm rest. Turned side-ways they fit right in. The backs and consol were no problem at all.

Dang it! Haha.

Hopefully there is a "work around" the slide motor, and we will be able to put some comfortable seating in there.

Heck, even if the wife has to hold the slide motor while reclining in "her" seat, it might not be so bad.

I hope someone out there may have done a seating swap on a 2109S and will tell what the fix is...

Thanks for posting!

Not knowing the space constraints, but maybe you could build a cabinet/shelf around the motor (with holes for ventilation and put the chairs on the side(s)?

Hey guys, Mine’s a 21FBRS Micro-Lite. Same prob with the Jack Knife sofa, intolerable! Flooring is boxed over the slide motor, wheel well, plumbing and electrical. No way it’s coming out, next best thing, remove the sofa, leaving the armrests w cup holders. This Storvik comes w legs, left em off. Sits good, lays good. Good luck with any and mods

Do you have a pic of what it looks like in your rig?

My wish is to find something with a higher back...

I think I now see how the slide on the 2109s is, and why it will be a prob to replace that jackknife... of course all this is before ours comes in, heck I may think the sofa is ok.

Here’s a couple, no legs, just screwed it to the platform. The padded kick board is just slipped in with angle braces for accessibility. All in all i think we have good alternative to the jack knife. G-Kids should have a decent place to sleep.

Very cleaver solution! If I happen to see that couple we met in April will pass this along.

Thanks for posting the pics!!

Did you keep the orig jacknife?

I am thinking, since that was designed to fit the floor, I wonder if a custom furniture builder would be able to take the frame of the unit, as it would bolt back in, and build a big hi back fluffy couch, or theater style seating from it?

I know I am getting ahead of myself since the camper is not in yet, but I like to think ahead...

Like the murphy bed couch we now have, the back cant be high as it has to lay flat and fit under the bed when it is down.

That is why I dont like it. When just sitting on the couch watching tv, the back isnt high enough to be comfortable for us.

I will find a solution for the 2109s, and I will post back with pics when it is complete.

They are good for the price, the one I have doesn’t have a dinette but a bar with stools.

I’m with you on the back thing; had fushion surgery some time ago and really have to watch how much I lift otherwise it’s back to the PT.

Looking at my Rockwood Mini Lite glossy broucher from 2017 that we received with our purchase, they have a few models that are longer than our 2104s at 21’ 7” and have the deep 85”w dinette slideout like ours.

The models are 2504s, 2506s, 2507s, and 2509s.

Some have a wardrobe included in the slideout. On the broucher the length for all of them is listed as 25’ 9” and states (hitch to bumper) so the actual box will be about 3’ shorter. What is not clear from the broucher is where the slide motor resides. Maybe others with those models can clarify. If the motor is under the floor like ours, you could have the option of converting the dinette to a loveseat recliner.
