Search tips for this forum

I have not had any luck searching the forum. I'll admit it. I have never really used a forum as heavily as I am trying to use this forum.

My searches bring up way too many hits and most do not apply to my topic. If I had more time I would review them all. I'm planning a trip and sometimes I just want to find an answer, but I hate to ask a question in the forum if the question has been answered many times over. So I need your help

What are some good tips for searching this forum? What has worked for you? Are there other forums or websites that I should consider?

If you are on the PC version there is a search bar and advanced search that helps(I am on phone as I do) and you can search a little differently than I can on phone. I am sure a “real expert” will add instructions.
