We slept one night on the 4" Piece of rubber foam that was in our MH as a mattress. It even had a nice topper and was still hard on our old bones and joints.
We ordered a 12" thick memory foam, queen bed in a box and I installed it and cut the end to match the bed platform. Easy to do with and electric knife and then resew the cover.
The height of the bed presented additional problems for climbing in bed. I built this stool and attached it to the end of the bed with velcro. Now we can step up and get in the bed easier. I also installed a grab bar from Home Depot on her side and made one from wood for under the cabinet on my side. It is amazing how much easier it is to maneuver on the bed with something to grab for leverage. Hope these ideas help someone.
God bless your day,
God is good all the time.
