Squeaky...

Hi, Just purchased a 2019 Cherokee 234 VFK; have an issue and am looking for advice. When I towed it at slow speeds coming home, I noticed a loud squeak from somewhere behind me. Called the dealer, and was told I should use Silicon on the ball and arms of the sway hitch. ( and never use grease).
I did notice some of the chrome rubbed off the tow ball; any thing to that? What does every body use to lube their system?
Thanks!

What type of WD hitch do you have?

You probably have the Equalizer WDH. Good hitch, but, they do make noise and need to be greased periodically

Sqeaky Hitch

It's a Sway Control by Tuff Tow.

Sqeaky Hitch?

Well, just lubed it and drove around a bit; yes the metal on metal sounds are gone (thank you) but it squeaks alot over speed bumps, driveways. Is that normal? Should I be looking for Zerk fittings?
Thanks all!

I don't believe there are any Zerks. I have the equalizer e4 WD hitch so mine is different from yours. When I get noise from mine I lube the ball and a couple spots where my bars connect to the hitch. Maybee you could try and lube where your bars connect to the hitch.

Are you sure it is coming from the hitch? I use lithium grease on the ball or any kind of tube grease just cause it is easier to put on. On the equalizer I use "On The Ball" oil which is a high weight oil made specifically for hitches and levelers.

The sounds from the hitch are gone, I think it's the axle area; noisy going over bumps and driveways. Springs maybe need lubricated?
Thx
