Post Survey: What are your favorite camping toys?

Just for kicking around discussion and something to talk about...what are some of your favorite camping/RV toys? And toys that you just take with you anyway?

Your favorite camping toy might be your BBQ grill.

Your favorite take along anyway toy might be a radio (in my case) or binoculars and a bird book.

What do you drag along on every trip just because you want to?

Your favorite camping toy - kites, the cool kind that lifts children off the ground. Great fun.

Your favorite take along anyway toy - the Wii. Huge fun for those too-rainy days.

What do you drag along on every trip just because you want to - Glad you said 'want' instead of 'have', cause the wife would not like the answer I was thinking of. So, something I drag along just because I want to... my good digital SLR camera.

you just had to put the wife in there huh?

Ok since you started it........

wife and kiddos
if it's in the boonies and not many trees I take my small 4" Dob telescope
bicycles for the 4 of us
we have a set of awning lights that are monkeys that my wife used while camping with her parents when she was younger (she caught me typing young and questioned that ) that we inherited and now my ladies love to put those up
and of course the cold beverages

Funny you mention BBQ grill. I love smelling up th ecampground for 6 some hours smoking some ribs on the pit. I also MUST take my pink flamingos to put out front (BTW I heard that the company making the majority of these are going out of business. Come on people, support the icon).
But ultimately, I must take my old Schwinn Stingray to cruise the campground.I love hearing people say, "hey, I had one just like that but it was red (Apple Krate). Just cool to get stoppped and discuss "the good ole days".

I bought the deluxe version of The Mountaineer. (has 4 different rods)
It can be used reel up or down. It really is a great little rod. I needed one that fit in the Jet Ski...and could take a beating. This rod is just pure genius.

on Antiques Roadshow. Told mom they would be valuable someday.

Must have: Two liter bottle with hole cut in top
used to funnel water into freshwater
tank when not at full hookup site.
(Neighbor showed us this trick but also
mentioned a culligan water jug would be
a nice accessory purchace.)
Nice to have along: Extra firewood (where campgrounds allow)
Never hurts to save a buck or two.
Bring along anyway: Laptop computer. Where ever I can get a
connection I can talk to all of you. Who would
want to miss that.

Nina
