Your probably just blowing cold air in from outside. The AC sucks air in with the fan.

Man, he must be all full busy. We'd all like to know what he found out. Maybe he's just teasing us.

When on battery power alone (no shore or generator power), the furnace will work, but the AC will not run at all, it needs 120 AC to run fan/compressor. Also AC circulates air from inside trailer and does not bring air from outside.

Am I right in my thinking if you do it this way and you hear a relay click at the AC, then your thermostat is wired incorrectly?

I had to remove the cover for my AC to get rid of a hornets nest. While in there I took a picture of the fan and the label with the electrical ratings for the unit. The fan is 115vac. Guess I never gave it much thought until now.

Thermostat is supplied from the battery at 12 volts. So yes you can hear a relay operate in the AC even if the shore power or generator power is off.

Ok. I reread my post and I guess I didn't type out my thought correctly. I understand the confusion.
Yes, I know the fan on the AC sucks air from inside the RV and circulates it. I meant to say that the Air in the RV is probably still cold enough to be blown back through. Even though the heater is on. I have experienced the same effect in my RV. My point was however that it couldn't possibly be the AC compressor working because that would require shore power or the generator to be on.

Sorry for the confusion.

The ac fan won't run without shore power either. Only your furnace runs on 12 volt.

The OPs "master HVAC tech" was supposed to check out his problem over a week ago and we have heard nothing. I'm guessing we never will.

No sir...replied to your message.

The A/C was running at the same time the heat was.

My HVAC friend was able to identify the problem and fix it like it was nothing. I’m relieved.

I have a lot going on today, I’ll try to share details later if anyone is interested; I’d have to call him for specifics. He fixed it without any parts being needed.

Cheers

I’m not sure an improperly wired thermostat could make both come on? I could see it being wired backwards, but not make both come on??
