Holy Cow!!! Did you have to replace all of your appliances or what???
To make a long story short had a bearing go while on a 4 lane highway. Burnt brakes off and damaged brake drum. Was at the mercy of an unknown repair shop. Had to replace all four brakes and drums. Should have been a $1000 job not $3000. But when you are stranded on the side of the road in a city you do not know you are open to people ripping you off. They next RV repair dealer would have been 3/4 hour drive. Plus there was only 1 CG in the area and they charged $75/nigh for a site that was so small when I extended my slide outs there was no room for the awning to be extended. Plus the site was so short I had to park my TV in a separate parking lot.

I feel your pain on getting ripped off. While we were at the harpers Ferry Campground (KOA) They had a flier at the front desk in the lobby for A mobile RV repair service. It stated rolling warehouse and listed all of its services. We were at their mercy. They charged $250 for the site visit, $125 per hour labor. I told the guy that I thought it was the converter. they tinkered around for 3 hours talked a LOT and installed a new battery in the camper. He mentioned the trickle down effect. Stated that there was no way to check the converter. Charged us $750 ( basically for a battery) We were back to square one when that battery went dead. I called them back. They wanted another $250 just to come back and then told us they couldn't get a new converter. I did go and buy a battery charger at a local Walmart there. That helped but i was concerned about being at the beach for a week with a Bandaid for electric and decided just to cut the trip short and head for home. So let this be a word of caution and for me.....a lesson learned.

For those who missed it; if you blow a bearing pray it is in Texas and they take you to PECOS TIRE in Pecos, Texas. Bless them many times.

I'm from MA and I have one of these, and I always wondered if there was a "real" name for them, because comealong always sounded like something someone made up, but the name stuck lol

Reminds me of National Lampoon's Vacation. When Griswald has to get his car fixed out in the boondocks, he's ready to pay and he asks the mechanic, "How much is it?" and the mechanic says, "How much you got?"

a mixture of 1/2 icing sugar and 1/2 baking soda. The ants take the mixture back to the nest and will kill all the ants. The baking soda will cause the ants to develop gas and die. The mixture will not harm children or pets. This was developed by a student for a science project.

Never did hear of a cheater bar being called a "Johnson Bar" however.

And of course some of us still call them "Ford Wrenches". I understand Henry Ford included an adjustable wrench in each new car - thus the name.

Some of us still call an adjustable wrench a "Cresent Wrench" after it's manufacturers name.
Only Johnson Bar I know of is the trailer
brake is just below the right side of the
steering wheel and to the left of them
there two sticks coming out of the floor
