I use the cheap stuff from Walmart for home and RV. Don't have to climatize when I go camping. Dissolves easily.

I'm living full time in mine. I was hoping I could use the good stuff. I hate the cheap RV stuff I've tried so far but don't wanna mess up my new TT.

Scott makes one that is intended for RVs and septic systems. We like it a lot better than the CampaKleen(?) type. It's generally available in the RV section of WalMart, in some groceries, and now in a few dealerships.

If you are a Costco member the Kirkland brand a lot of people swear by. It is listed as septic safe so should be good for RV use too.

we use members mark from Sams club. works fine and breaks down ASAP even though its 2 ply.
I say give it the tush test. if it feels good on your tush use it. normal tp breaks down in short order in the tank.

I've received warnings about regular tissue not breaking down, sticking to the tank walls and messing up the electronic gauges. Anyone had issues with that with the Kirkland or other "septic safe" paper, or is it all messaging generated from the RV stores to sell $4/roll RV paper?

Just go with septic safe.
It would be a drag to have to consider TP cost as part of a traveling budget.

We use Scott 1 Ply and it works fine, I'm told any 1 ply paper will dissolve and not cause a problem. That loosely rolled RV stuff is a waist of money. Scott 1 ply works nicely.

I was using the kitten brand and had problems. I switched to the kirkland brand. Have been using it for over a year with not problems.

I use Scott from Walmart's trailer/auto section. Its just like the real stuff and dissolves easily! Not sure if its single ply or not, it feels thicker..

We've been using Scott's Single Ply for years now. They had a display at the Hershey RV Show years back and were giving away rolls of TP and coupons for $1 off. It's available in quite a few stores, but any Septic System safe TP will work. At an RV maintanence seminar we were told to take a sheet and place it in a glass of water. Allow it to sit in there a few seconds then swirl the water. the TP should be noticebly falling apart. If it dissolves it's safe to use.

We started using Angel Soft single ply which is listed as septic safe. I read about it here somewhere. It desolves great.
The topics we seem to get into here.. LOL

I just caution about using the ultra ply stuff like cottenelle and royale. That stuff breaks down like plastic.

We just use the two-ply paper in the RV section of the Walmart. It's what we've used for years and haven't had a problem yet. I figure if the paper scratches takes a few layers of skin off I know it's clean, . I'd rather endure a little pain in the rear instead of having to remove a tank to clean all the TP off the sensors.

Like you said, a pain in the rear is better than a pain in the azz.
