Using electric recliners while dry camping?
Looking to upgrade from our 2006 8288 Rockwood to an Alpine 5th wheel, we noticed all the recliners seem to be all electric. So do they have an inverter so you can use them without running a generator, or doesn't anyone use their recliners while dry camping? Thinking since they convert to 24v DC maybe someone has tried 2 smaller 12 v batteries to feed the chair 24v dc power, vs running the generator every time you want to recline. Guessing they figure if you are in the theater seating, you must have 110 to run the tv, lol.
I am surprised they don't atleast have manual pull for the recline feature like we saw on a Cougar.
Thanks for any suggestions, besides only going to campgrounds with hookups or having to run the generator when "the boss" wants to recline when not watching TV....

If they don’t come with an inverter, adding one is fairly easy. That’s what I did when I added aftermarket power recliners. Easy peasy.

Using electric recliners
I replaced my couch with electric recliners from a local furniture store and since i don't have a plug in my slideout and didn't want to run an extension cord I bought a battery pack that will run both recliners. our trips usuall are 9 to 10 days and have never run out of power. battery pack claims 700 cycles but I couldn't testify to that

It has a real low standby current too and based on "nameplate rating" of devices I've plugged into it, compared ro current draw shown on my Victron monitor, is very efficient.

Another alternative is to get a DC-DC "boost" converter that will step up your rig's 12V to 24V and provide enough current to run your chairs. You could leave this permanently hooked up and just always run the chairs off of DC power. You'll probably have to run wiring to make a DC outlet somewhere near the chairs. Don't forget, if you use this approach, that the 12V wiring will need to carry twice the current you need at 24V.
A hybrid solution, if there's an AC outlet near the chairs would be to use a 24V LiFePO4 battery to run the chairs. You can use the AC outlet for a charger for the batteries.

I know the theater recliners that we had in our basement had a 9V battery spot. That way if the power went out and you were reclined you could get out. Those batteries lasted quite of few times just using them to recline not plugged in.
