Water on floor when using shower.

We have the type of shower/tub with a curtain. The little ridge across the top of the tub at the front is supposed to keep the water from running off onto the floor. Even with the curtain closed and hanging on the inside of the tub water still gets all over the floor. The problem is that the little ridge is not high enough to do much good. I thought of a cheap, easy solution if anyone else has this problem.

I bought a piece of #40 PVC pipe, cut a slit the same width as the little ridge down the length of it, sanded the markings off, slipped it in place and caulked down the edges and ends. It's nice that it is rounded in case a bare foot accidentally steps on it. I think it will work well. Going to try it out next month at Lake Tahoe

Like they say there is more then one way to skin a cat I hope it works, did you give thought to longer shower curtain

The curtain was plenty long enough. That wasn't the problem. Water would get on the flat surfaces and flow off to the floor because the little ridge (or dam) was not high enough to stop it. A shower door track would have worked but since I didn't have that and only a curtain I improvised a more robust dam. When I used the shower it wasn't bad but when the DW did, OMG, so I had to do something. Either install shower doors with a track or this. This was a whole lot cheaper.

I finally got to try out the shower at Lake Tahoe last week and it worked like a charm. No more water on the floor!

Looks like 1 1/2" to me. Not positive.

Actually it was 3/4" #40.

Just for future reference you can take the "markings" off of PVC with the PVC cleaner we use before we glue it.

One solution that worked really good for me in my old TT (that had bathtub shower) was a pair of these "Splash Guards".

Yeah, I saw those and although they may have helped they would not have solved my particular problem.

Same problem I always hate. But I don't want to glue the pipes on the corner, would it have a marking? If I can add a suction cup instead of using glue then that would be terrific.
