My piece of advice: Read the title of the post before you reply: "What's your best single piece of advice..."

1 piece of advice.

Take tools. Lots of tools! If not for fixing something on your RV, but something on your neighbor's unit. It's what you do in a herd!

Many great things to consider so far. Here is one that I do not think was mentioned yet but can mess up your day.

Make sure there is room to put the slides out before you unhitch from the truck. The power pole is usually close to my rear slide and I learned this the hard way once.

Take two tire plug kits, not just one (in addition to your 12v compressor), when you go to Alaska or the Yukon. When you have already used your truck's spare tire to replace your first flat tire on the Top of the World Highway, two kits allow you to repair the 5 rock cuts in your second flat truck tire well enough to get to Dawson City and still have enough plugs left to do a trailer tire repair too!
