Nothing loses its value quicker than an RV. Don't purchase a low optioned RV first, churn through several more RVs until you finally purchase one that you really love and should have purchased to start with. The RV escalator is an expensive ride to get to the top. TV purchases are kind of the same deal. Purchase more than you need and every new RV will not require a trip back to the TV dealer's lot.

we always try to remember to turn off the water whenever we leave the trailer and to make that easier for DW, I added a garden hose shutoff valve with the quick flip shutoff, so we/she don't have to crank on a hose bibb or wrestle with one of those lever arm campground water valves,....

DW gets as nervous as a cat in a room full of mouse traps when it's time to back in. It did get better. We got the basic "commands" down now and we are both happy when it goes smooth.

2. Spend more money doing and less "acquiring." Don't let your possessions own you.
3. Never be in a hurry. If you are in a hurry you are not doing it right.
4. Airline pilots use checklists. So should you.
5. Travel light. Clean out the stuff you don't use now and then.

The last one is hard for many. We are former backpackers and going minimal isn't to hard for us.

Not sure if I commented before, but at the risk of a "double" ...

NEVER drain your hot water heater using the low point drains.

ALWAYS close the water heater isolation valves, then use the drain plug located outside on all tank water heaters. (Does not apply to tankless systems).

Since the cold water pipe is on the bottom of the tank, bits of anode, calcium nodules, and rust particles that sit on the tank bottom can be swept into the cold water pipes during the drain and can stay in the pipe.

When you winterize with "pink", blow out the lines with air, or, just refill the lines with water in the spring, that crud can be pushed into your faucet or toilet valves blocking water flow.
