12v off & on flagstaff 825d 2004

I am new to the forum. Recently purchased a 2004 hardtop tent trailer with air, lights, fan etc. The 12 volt system works intermittently. 120V works always. plug trailer 30 amp cord into 30/15 adapter then extension cord into 15 amp hydro. Fridge works fine on 120V. No battery installed

Last weekend, 12V would only work when AC cooling. when it cycled off to fan, all 12V would cut out (lights, gas detector). Fuses all look good.

earlier in driveway plugs into house hydro thru adapter, no fridge or air, 12v sometimes works, sometimes not. It also will work, then cycle off for a few minutes, then come back on, then off....

Another time this summer, plugged directly into 30amp outlet, none of 12V worked

Any suggestions. Thanks

if u haven't, put a battery in it and see if the problem with the 12 volt disappears.
some of it sounds like a circuit breaker tripping and reseting. my thought is a circuit breaker in the converter.
if the battery appears to solve the problem, i would put a voltmeter on the DC and watch it. u should see fluctuations in voltage if the problem is still there.
i know i'm not addressing the problem with the AC. i'm thinking that may be another problem.

i'm hoping someone else recognizes the problem and chimes in.

You may not have enough converter to handle all the 12 volt load at once. Put a battery in it to get you through. Sounds like the converter is shutting off due to overload. Also, if your positive battery lead is just floating around, if it touches ground, it will cause and overload and shut the converter down. You only get so many chances before the converter is fried.

I can't think the converter would be happy without a battery.
I bet that is the whole problem.

Put a new battery in this weekend and everything seems to be working fine (in the driveway). True test will be when away next week. Thanks for all for the posts and suggestions.
