While driving with the frig running on battery, my battery has lost some charge. On 5 hour drive, the battery is down 30%
Does the battery charge while hooked up to the vehicle?

Depends on a number of things.
Most tow vehicles only provide a trickle charge IF the vehicle has a 7 pin connector and the correct fuse is in place.
If you have the 3 way fridge set on 12v, this could be a problem.

My bet is that you don't have your vehicle setup right.
Might help if you posted what it is.

I agree with bikendan. Most likely fuse supplying 12v 15amp is not in place.

Thanks for the reply. I have a 2016 Chevy 2500 HD with the full tow package, so I have the 7 pin. I will check the fuse.
