2017 Rockwood pop up winch issue
I'm having issues with my power winch for the 2017 Rockwood pop up lift system. I had the camper opened up and in my garage for a few weeks. During that time I had pumped some grease into the lift system grease zerks while the roof was still raised up.
Today was able to bring the trailer down fine until it was almost closed then I went back up with it to grab something from inside and after that it didnt seem to want to go down any further. I fiddled with the up and down button a good few times and it didnt seem to raise or lower the roof anymore. It also sounded like it was struggling and after trying to raise it up and down a few times I dont hear it trying to do anything anymore and I'm afraid I've burnt the winch motor or something.
I am aware of the inline breaker on the battery and I was getting voltage from that (13 V or so) so I don't think that is the issue. Also the trailer was plugged into external power so dont think was an issue with battery or anything.
I was able to manually crank the trailer up and down after all that and it seemed to work fine.
Any thoughts on what might have happened or what I should look at next??
I realize I should have greased the lift system zerks when the trailer was closed like so not sure if that was what caused the roof to not lower all the way and then I likely burnt a motor of the winch by fussing with it too much but I'm not 100% sure.
What would you do or check next if you were in this situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
