2020 HW27KS - adhesive ceiling mount for shower head

Hey gang,

Have any of the tall folks (I'm 6'-2") used an adhesive shower head holder on the ceiling of the popup to free the hands during a shower? Amazon has a few that might work, but wondering if anybody has found success with something?

A wall application won't work since the shower curtain must wrap completely around, so it looks like a ceiling mount is the best option.

Got any better ideas?

Following - I'd like to see if there are any ideas on this.

Also, will you need to extend the hose, will the shower hose reach that high?

Yeah, the current hose is a standard 5 foot length...I ordered a 6 foot hose today, only $6, but saw one that was 7 foot, and will likely get that later once I decide on which holder will work best...

I wonder if I could 3D print something? Lol I see too many possibilities now that I own one.

For adhesive, you can't beat this stuff! I have used it to hold up low profile light hooks on the ceiling and even the paper towel rack. I have used it to hold trim pieces on a car and even the "drip gutter" i installed on the front/back of the camper to catch AC runoff:

I don’t see why not. I use a couple of them at home in a prefab shower on the walls; a low one to use for the dogs & up high for my 6’-6” son. I haven’t had any issues with them coming loose. Check that the top of the shower wall is caulked. I had this discussion with my service tech just yesterday; my new rv isn’t caulked up there. He told me they frequently don’t caulk it because it’s difficult for them to get a clean line.

2 velcro loops. One on the shower head, one on the ceiling shower hanger, then connect each loop's tail.

Mike, I believe you said your camper doesn't have the walls around the bathroom since they discontinued that? Is that gray curtain the new stock look? If not and you bought it just wondering how well it works/fits and what you go in case I ever needed to replace?

My camper is a "Premier model" but not a highwall. Only the Highwall models came with a hard wall shower, that was recently replaced with curtains.

Only recently in the last couple of years did Rockwood discontinue the Premier models and downgrade a few of those floorplans into the Freedom series. Changing my 2716g into a 2716f with many losses. Then Rockwood didn't change the price. There's no way I would pay a Premier price for all the losses that the Freedom has.

Premier upgrades were Fiberglass sidewalls, standard powered roof lift, Dual Propane Tanks, Stereo, Large door grab handle, steps built into the travel door, glass top stove, hanging wardrobe, solar prep, torsion axles instead of leaf springs/axle, aluminum wheels, and higher sidewalls (between standard low wall height and High wall height). The 2716f freedom kept the glass stove top, higher side walls, standard powered roof lift, but I believe that's it.

I changed out my white curtain that came with the shower because it was useless and let water come through, run down the side and on to floor. Vinyl curtains will stick to you so finding a fabric curtain that is waterproof is a must. Then showering isn't bad at all.

The pic shows a vinyl laminate on the fabric curtain. Outside is fabric while inside was vinyl. While not as bad a pure vinyl curtain, it still was pretty bad in sticking to you. So those have been replaced with a 2 sided fabric shower curtain that is water proof. A fabric curtain is very easy to shower in as you can push it out with elbows and such as needed and won't stick to you.

I guess in 2021 they had the large grab handle, power roof lift, aluminum wheels and solar prep on frame as standard Freedom features. I guess the Freedom models still only have the 4" foam mattresses instead of the Premier 4" innerspring premium mattresses that the Premier has. I forgot to mention that Premier feature in the previous post.

Here's what I did...works nicely...ordered the $5 head holder, and a 118 inch hose (only needed 96 inches, but couldn't find one).

Applied a couple of adhesive Velcro strips to the ceiling in the area where the shower head would hang well for me...a little extra to allow me to move if needed...

Applied Velcro strips to the back of the shower head holder (it came with adhesive backing, but wanted Velcro to ensure I could move it as needed)...

Hung the shower head, and then used a small tent bungee to hold the hose back out of the way...

Took a shower, and it was great!!! Hands free the whole time, except for the final rinse.

that looks great, although I would use white velcro, as seeing those black stripes on the ceiling when the shower is not being used would annoy me!!
I love your shower curtain, where did you find that one?

Yeah, black velcro isn't exactly pleasing to the eye, but I went with function over form.

Got the shower curtain from Amazon...had to tall and wide enough...

Black velcro is usually Velcro's heaviest duty while white is regular duty. I'd use Black so you don't get hit in the head by a falling shower head.
