Any Coachmen Clipper or Viking owner's here?

I don't see much of any posts about the Coachmen Clippers or Viking models.

I really liked the 2485 SST model from either brands.

Ultimately I bought the 2716g Rockwood because no locally close Clipper/Viking dealers, wanted the 14' box layout, 2485 SST had little cabinet top room for microwave and TV/media player, and further out dealers seem to want more money for this model than a really nice travel trailer.

But I really like the 2485 SST, looks like a nice unit if you can make a microwave and TV fit on the cabinet tops. Sorry have to have both to be comfortable on my vacations.

Just curious if these Clipper/Viking models are much more reliable and quality units over the Rockwood Premier Units.

From what I've seen, Rockwood and Flagstaff Popups are better units.

I owned a used 2018 Viking 2107ls that I bought last March and just sold it for what I paid for it. I have to say it was so poorly made I will never consider Coachmen products again. I ended up buying a 2021 Freedom 2318g a week ago. The quality and craftsmanship are miles above the Viking.

Wow, I honestly didn't think poor build quality could be worse than the Rockwoods. Comparing against my Jayco Travel Trailers and my Starcraft Pop Up, the Rockwoods looks to have bottom of the barrel build quality.

I guess I'm the rare one, that would rather use my camper instead of fixing it all the time. Makes tent camping seem preferable as all I had to do was seam seal my tents every year. That took maybe an hour at worst.

I'm still hanging in, hoping the need to always fix the pop up, will cease soon.

I’ve owned Jayco, when they were independent, and Forest River products. They all can be poor in build quality depending on when they were built and who did the building. I’ve had a really good experience with the Rockwood line. My last TT was a Rockwood ultra light and it was solid. My new Freedom 2218g is good too. You will always have the loose screw here and there. I’ve passed up on a lot of new campers because the build was poor.

I have a 2020 Viking Express 12.0TD so far the only issues I have the dealer was aware of and they are very unresponsive on getting them fixed.

I've been considering a Viking 17 FQM. Y'all are giving me bad vibes about all of them.

Well, they're talking about Viking POPUPS, not Viking travel trailers. That's why this thread is in the Tent Camper and Popup section.

I guess I'll just go down the hall to the right door.

Just trying to clarify what the thread is about. There is no Viking sub-forum, in the TT/5th Wheel section because Viking was only making Popups. When Shasta absorbed them, they started making clones of some of their Shasta TTs with the Viking name on them.
So the Shasta sub-forum would probably be the best place to find other Viking TT owners.

2015 Viking Epic

We own a 2015 Viking Epic. We bought it so we could store it in our garage but after using it a few times I would much prefer a regular hard sided trailer. I have had any number of problems including: refrigerator issues, bent bed slider (still trying to figure out how to repair it), and other smaller issues.
