Had the printer a bit over a week now, spend most of that week printing parts to make an enclosure for it.

Late last night I finally had my first go at printing one of these. I definitely picked the correct material in polypropylene as it has the same "squish" as the original. I had someone print me some a while back and they used the harder type of filament. On first inspection I realized that they would shatter on hard ground.

PP is a tougher material to print with so I have a little work to do for the first layer as it was not 100% but the rest of it is perfect. I do need to try it on of course but measurement wise its perfect. I need to relocate the hole a bit lower but outside of that It should work well and look similar with a bit of smoothing.

I do plan to make the bottom thicker so it lasts longer as well.

I have perfected the bottom so its smooth and printed a few of these now if anyone is interested. I would only ask you to pay postage (priority so about ~$5 -7 dollars in the contiguous US) and a few dollars for the material as polypropylene filament is 2-3 times the cost of regular plastic filament

It fits as snug as the original perhaps a touch more snug and has the hole so you can tie it to the pole like the factor one if desired. The bottom is also nearly twice as thick so it should not ever where through.

I was thinking $10 for a pair that includes shipping in the US or maybe $15 for 4.

PM me if your interested.

Are you saying you did this? I went to the store and looked at PVC fittings. None fit perfectly and also fit in the "pocket" when closed. If you did the PVC fitting and it fit like the original what size did you use I am sure others want to know.

Secondly it is of immense value if you put the awning leg on the ground so it doesn't round the ball that goes in the socket on the side-wall of the camper.
