Bad Night!

Just after dinner last evening, a summer thunder storm rolled thru and in the aftermath, DW and I found an 8" diameter tree had fallen on our Popup (closed at the time). The significant damage I can see includes a depression in the roof above the awning in front of the door, the roof at the right front corner is split at the seam, the roof on the left front corner is shifted ~1.5" outward, the frame on either side of the tongue is bent lower by about 1"-2" (measured at the corner), and the lift system cable tubes are now visible under the front of the trailer. The winch still operates but I'm concerned about trying to lift the roof to see what the extent of damage is inside.

Has anyone experienced this? Other than just letting it rip and seeing what happens, what did you do?

Talk to your insurance company. There may be a new popup in your future.

I'm thinking so but we're still waiting to meet with the adjuster. DW is checking local availability.

Bummer! Hope everything works out with your PUP, but mostly I'm glad that you're okay!

Please post what happens with the adjuster. I would be curious about a claim for a pop up and what they would determine as far as repair or replace. Sounds like pretty good damage took place.

Well, the insurance company is working on their own time but our 206ltd was finally totaled. After looking at the upgrades we wanted on a 2016 replacement, the 2017 228 was almost the same price. Looks like a tree-induced upgrade is in the works!
