Bad screen door 1970esp- brand new

I have a brand new 1970esp- I haven’t even owned it for a month. The first time using it the screen door solid panels came out of their rubber stripping and crashed down, making the panels unusable because the push in clips wont stay attached to the panels to support their weight. So now I have no way to close the screen door.

The second time using it- this weekend- we went to lock the door for the first time and the entire locking mechanism came out.

My camper is/was perfectly leveled and there is always a small gap between the left side of door entry and the door frame when the door is on.

I tried the dealership once to get help when the panels broke and got a lot of runaround about making a long drive just to look at panels (which of course they dont have in stock so I would have to return all pver again). I am frustrated that a brand new product like this would break immediately and was considering just ordering a replacement screen door on my own and moving on but cannot locate one anywhere. The sticker in the door calls it a pop up door 21 1/2 by 69. Has anyone else had door problems like this? Any idea where I can purchase a new one? The dealer should have the build sheet to my new product bought less than a month ago- but when I called service acted like they had no clue what door I would have- for a product they literally just sold me and have sitting on their lot. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The dealer should have provided you a build sheet which is usually included with the packet of papers and manuals when you picked up the rig. Ours was just a piece of paper with the product manufacturers name, serial numbers and part numbers... sometimes the website or telephone number.

You might want to take it back to the dealer for warranty work on the things that are wrong. Unless there is a backlog, ordering parts doesn't take that long. I share your frustration, but the dealer or a mobile mechanic that honors the FR warranty are your best bet for getting things fixed.

Thanks- I contacted the dealer with pictures and they immediatley got back to me and are going to pull a door off an on lot unit (I wonder if the same thing happened to me TBh; do I have someone else’s problem?). A replacement part is 4 weeks out and I am reallly thankful they will take care of me like this.

Its mind boggling how this could even have happened so fast the entire door has just completely fallen apart. I am always level from the tires and tongue jack, my stabilizers just kiss the ground and are on jack stabilizer pads. My door also appears to fit “almost” perfect into the door area with maybe a 1/8 gap on the left hand side. I am hoping that this is just a junk door and not a symptom of something else that is seriously wrong.

Suzanne,
I just purchased a used 2020 Flagstaff MAC pop up and the lower screen door latch was broken, then fell off with the spring separating from it. Right now the lower screen door is held on with duct tape as I try to find either a replacement latch or a new bottom screen cover.

I was able to get a price to replace that lower screen panel- it’s insane $180. I can find the place that can give you a quote and order it for you. But what you describe is what also happened to both of my panels within 2 weeks of ownership.

Yikes! Thanks, I'd like the place for an order. May or may not get one. Gail
