Battery Question

So I just got a Rockwood 1970esp and I am thinking of upgrading the battery on it. I have a couple ideas in my head about what I want to do and accomplish. I know I want to put 2 100w solar panels on the top but also be able to connect the battery's to 110v with an on board battery tender/charger

Question 1: if I put two large 6v batteries in series will the draw be equal to each battery? The reason I ask is because if I put 2 12v batteries in parallel the system will draw more from one.

Idea 1: 2- 12v batteries with a switch to make them separate, unsure on how I'd charge them independently from solar/ possibly 100w panel for each.

Idea 2: 2 - 6v batteries in series, if they draw equally or there abouts.

Any thoughts or input would be great.

By its nature, a series connection always has to draw the same current through all connected batteries. You are correct that parallel batteries do not always charge or discharge equally; however if the batteries are the same age , type, and brand the difference in actual use is of little significance. I added a second 75 AH group 24 battery to my rig with a simple parallel connection. Works fine.

Good to know. Thanks. That would make life a lot easier to get another 12v battery to use rather than going the 6v route.
