Cleaning canvas?

What are the best products to clean the canvas? Our tent trailer on each seems To have mold that the previous owner had moisture and doesn’t look great. Just looking for ideas to clean it well.

I will refer you to this thread that discusses mold on canvas (cloth) and vinyl tenting.

After reading this thread a couple of years ago, I bought the stuff. It did ok, but it took a lot of scrubbing and it still didn’t take care of everything.

I recently bought Star brite mold and mildew remover due to thousands of great online reviews. I thought it would be just like all of the other products I tried over the years that were hyped on the internet, but I was truly surprised that it worked like magic. It removed everything that all of the other products couldn’t remove without even scrubbing. I sprayed it on with a pump sprayer and everything except at a couple of really bad spots just disappeared with no scrubbing at all. Those other really bad spots just took a little bit of soft rubbing with a soft brush and they disappeared too — I didn’t have to scrub them — I just agitated the spots with the soft brush and they went away. I then just sprayed it all of with clean water. This stuff truly was a miracle in my eyes.

You keep calling it canvas... are we talking cotton canvas or vinyl?

Did you spray one side only? Black mold when sprayed turns to a yellow and stains the back side.

When using those sprays ( I use another mold/mildew product, Mold Armor) initially on cotton canvas the canvas gets a yellowish cast on it, but a second spraying on the canvas with some water to wash it off will always produce pure white ( or close to it) . Once the canvas is dry ( out in the bright sun light I apply a water-resistant formula to get back some water-resistance...

We used it on our bed end side panels both sides and ours turned yellow too.We used the stuff from westbay marine. We washed it down but it didn't get rid of the yellow stains. We also used it on the overhead canvas in the bed ends and that material did not turn yellow. The material cleaned up like cowboys pics that he posted.

I wish I just left it the way it was as the yellow doesn’t look good at all. Well I guess it’s nice and clean now. Live and learn.

Yep that's what i told my wife. We got rid of the mold and mildew look for the yellow stain look. Like i posted it worked fine on the overhead bunk end canvas. Did not change the color at all, but the side panels are different type of canvas.
