does the 2716F have inverter?

Hey guy,
I'm obviously a newbie to the whole camping world. Picked a a 2021 2716f last Friday and when I got home the new battery from the dealer was shut. Thought I had a bad battery so picked one up a new battery that same night. Used the battery and to pop up the camper to show it to the kids. Next morning battery was done as well (not on shore at home at all and nothing left on).
Thought it was an inverter issue but supposedly this model doesn't come with an inverter.
1.Does this pup has an inverter?
2.If not. what's drawing depleting my battery so quickly?

Any input will be highly appreciate.

Does your pup have a residential refrigerator? That's what it shows on the FR specs.

If it does, then yes, your pup has an inverter and the refrigerator can draw the battery down overnight.
You need to turn off the refrigerator or disconnect the battery to stop the electrical draw.

Edit. The best thing to do would be to disconnect the negative battery cable. See the discussion here: https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...ff-253543.html

To my understanding, it’s 2 small fridges that both run on gas, 12v and 110. Not sure what do you mean by residential.
Also, can you send me the link for my pup specs. Thanks

Doubt that it has an inverter.
All RVs come with a CONverter, few come with an INverter, especially popups.

I'm sure you can Google the brochure for it or the specs. I doubt the specs have changed for the 2022 model.
Who are you asking to send you the specs for it? This Forum is not affiliated with Forest River Incorporated, just a group of owners of Forest River products.

I have a 2020 2716g which is the premier or luxury version of your camper. It's essentially a high wall camper without the higher walls.

In 2020 when Forest River did away with the Premier line, they took the 2716g floorplan and added it to the Freedom series. They then called it the 2716F. You gave up fiberglass side walls, standard roof power lift system, built in stereo and speakers, hanging wardrobe, torsion axle, dual propane tanks, built in stair in travel door and some other features. They also kept a few features of the premier line like it's higher sidewalls. While not as tall as the high wall campers, the premier standard wall camper has 6" higher sidewalls than a Freedom series, they kept that along with glass stove top, aluminum wheels and the such.

As to your question, there's no inverter (changes 12VDC into 120VAC) but there is a CONVERTER that changes 120VAC into 12VDC.

You definitely have a problem draining your battery in 1 day. Even the slight drains from propane detector, stereo, lights, converter will take a couple of weeks to drain battery.

You may have a shunt which is like a short but doesn't draw current high enough to blow a fuse.

I honestly have never heard or seen this happen to anyone where battery was draining that quick.

If you had the 12VDC fans on continuous, bunk fans and ceiling fan, OR had the furnace fan running continuous (but hard to do without heat coming out) that could drain the battery pretty quick, but other than that, not much else.

You could disconnect the power lift cable from your battery to make sure the lift system isn't pulling current if you have a power lift system.

Other than that, you may need to take it to the dealer for professional electrical troubleshooting.

Good luck.

Thanks for clarifying that. If it runs on gas, 12v and 110, it's not a residential refrigerator. In that case, I'm with everyone else. I have no idea what could be draining that battery overnight.
I'm assuming that you have a warranty and the dealer should find the problem and fix it.
In the meantime, disconnect the negative battery cable to keep the battery from dying.... either that or put a battery charger/maintainer on it.
If you find the solution, please come back and let us know.

Inverter/converter explained above. If the battery is going dead that fast, check the breakaway switch ( on the frame at the hitch). If it was accidentally pulled it will activate the e-brakes and kill the battery quickly.

if the fridge is running on 12v power it will run your battery down. Either turn it off or run it on propane. the 12v function and 120v functions are just heating elements that replace the heat of the propane flame. Heating elements use a lot of power.

3-way "Camper" refrigerator:

LP (propane)-- Primary mode for best cooling and when no AC power is available. May not work when towing. Will run for weeks on a single 20# LP cylinder.

120vAC -- when on shore power. Less cooling power than LP.

12vDC - Last resort when attached to a running tow vehicle in transit and the LP flame keeps blowing out. Only use if the tow vehicle has a trailer battery charge wire functioning. If left in this mode it will kill the trailer battery (and maybe the parked tow vehicle) in a couple of hours.
