Dometic AC

We purchased our 2020 FR Flagstaff Mac 205 from an owner who never used it. He had a Dometic roof top AC installed by the dealer. We purchased the pup up mid summer and everything worked very well on our first try out. We then traveled to west Texas for a week and at our first stop, the AC failed to come on. Nothing. No fan, no cooling.
I have tested the capacitor and it appears to be fine. Fuse box in converter appears to be in working order. My question is... Is there another fuse between the converter and the AC that would prevent power from getting to the unit?
Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. First were you plugged into shore power or maybe a generator? The AC unit runs off 110V and is protected by a circuit breaker not a fuse. If you were on shore power or generator check the circuit breakers in your distribution panel.

I know this is a dumb question, but did you connect the AC Power line to the camper top? It is a separate connection. I have forgot that in the past, made me feel brilliant when I figured it out. (DUH!)

Thanks for your help. To clarify:
I have plugged AC power supply cord from the body of the camper to the receiver plug on the roof. Using the shore power, 20 amps, to supply the power to the camper, I still cannot get the unit to turn on.
The camper is equipped with a WFCO WF-8735P power converter that contains four breakers and several fuses. Using a multi-meter I have found that all of the breakers and fuses are in working order.
Again using the multi-meter (with shore power connected) I read 120 volts on all power plugs (indoors and outdoors). However, when I test the power cord for the AC, I am getting NO readings.
I have removed the converter box to look to see if any wires may have come loose, but there did not appear to be any unconnected wires.
I have not yet taken apart the male end of the AC power cord to see if it is a problem as it is very difficult and I am cautious about damaging it in the process.

Please, I am about to the end of my capabilities and any help is appreciated.

I am assuming you have the "typical" flagstaff cord on the outside that goes up to the roof and plugs in.

There should be a separate light yellow power wire coming from the back side of the WFCO to a 20 amp single outlet power outlet somewhere usually near the port on the outside. There is another more orange yellow wire that is the main power in from the shore power connector. That black cord for the AC going outside is plugged in to that 20 amp power outlet and not directly wired to the WFCO.

That is how it was on my 2016 flagstaff and is on my 2018 Rockwood.

For me in both cases the WFCO and outlet were in the same compartment but I don't know what your floorplan is and where the WFCO is in relation to the AC plug.

So basically make sure the outside black wire going through the AC power port hole is plugged in to that 20 amp outlet and that the 20 amp outlet is showing power. If its plugged in and the outlet has no power the WFCO is pretty simple/basic fuse box. Unplug shower power and with a flashlight remove the 4 screws on the face cover on the WFCO and you can see the breaker in full and verify the wire is connected properly on the bottom and/or that connection point has power with it plugged back in. You seem to know your way around a meter so probably don't need to say this but BE CAREFUL when shore power is connected and your inside that breaker box.

You can also unplug the black wire from the 20 amp outlet and check continuity at both ends of the plug without disassembly.

Once again thanks to everyone.

As I was re-installing the power converter back into the cabinet, I saw a small flashlight laying on the floor behind where the converter is installed. Note: the converter is in a cabinet located at floor level and for a 72 yo man, getting down to that level is difficult to say the least.

Anyway, as I looked at the small flashlight I realized it must have come from the drawer directly above the converter. I removed the drawer in order to retrieve the wondering item and then saw that the AC power plug had become dislocated from a "wall" outlet placed there during the installation of the AC unit. Re-plugged the wire, re-plugged the shore power, and guess what? The AC now works. Going to install some type of strip across the plug to keep it for dislocating again.

Thanks everyone!!!!

I have seen those cords zip tied on because they can come loose. That white power outlet should have two crappy wood screws in diagonal holes you can loosen to slip a log zip tie behind it to secure the AC power cord better then tighten back up when done.

Glad it was a simple fix.
