Dometic awning bag zipper

On our 425D, I'm convinced that the cheapest possible zipper was spec'd for the awning bag. Every time I go to close the bag, I envision the zipper either shredding the teeth or it comes flying off in my hand - wouldn't that be a frustrating position to be in? I gingerly try to close it as carefully as possible, ensuring that there's no tension in the zipper but it still takes considerable force to close it. Has anyone found a 'lube' for tough zippers?

Much appreciated.

G.

Dometic awning bag zipper.

I used to use a tube of bow string wax. It worked good for me.

...as in that amber-colored stuff that I use on my kid's violin bow?...did I get that right? If so, I never would have assumed any other use for it. But hey, if it works, I'll give it a shot.

Thanks,

G.

The bow I meant was a hunting bow but wax is wax. Go for it.

Great question GoHabsGo! We've been having the same issue but didn't think it serious enough to ask!

Use a bar of soap on the zipper and it will slide easily. Make sure it's a bar not liquid ;-)
