Double hitch adapter

We are new HW27SC owners and excited to hit the road. We bought the unit with roof rack under the idea of putting our 4 bikes on top. However thinking through it, I was pretty resolved to buy the ProRac system instead.

However, Iím wondering if anyone has used a double hitch adapter from the truck and used a four bike Thule rack instead?

I know this is a common problem but since I have the hitch mount bike rack already it seems worth the ask. Thanks in advance

I used a trunk-mounted rack for a while w/an extension. I was always worried I was going to squish the bikes. I did once going into a steep driveway. I bought the Pro-Rack and never worried about it again.

Such an adapter will reduce your receiver's capacity.

I am not a fan of adding tongue weight but if you have the weight figured out and thats where you want to put them here are a few options that would not reduce your reciever rating.
