Electric winch not operating

I have a 2018 Flagstaff 176LTD and all of a sudden the winch is not working. The battery is new and I opened and closed the camper last week using the winch. I tried removing the circuit breaker from the battery and it still does nothing?

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Charlie

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the Tent Camper and Popup section since the OP's questions are specific only to popups and not general questions.

Wench motor broke... and manual operation

First trip planed for Friday in our New to us hw27ks... opened it up to pack today and make some repairs... boom wench drive gear snapped off. Noone within reason has a replacement for me to go get quick. Had to order one straight from the mfg. Does anyone know if they changed the shaft design on these motors? It's a 3/16 shaft between the motor and the gear, no wonder alot of people have them snap off. I've got a friend that's a machinist so I'm gonna see if we can make some "improvements" to the design. If it works out I'll keep the new one as a spare or sell it if we can make the old one work better. I did figure out a way to work these things manually tho so I'll post some pics and a description later when I get a few minutes.

Thanks,

Clean the contacts on both sides of the breaker and reconnect. After messing with the switch and checking the wiring on the underside it was simply corrosion on the connector from the wire to the winch at the breaker.

you can test by wiggling/moving that while flipping the switch

See this post with details on diagnostics including a video on the relay system. That is assuming yours is a newer model popoup

Had this happen to me last year. Turned out to just be a bad switch. New switch and works great.
