Exhaust fan not working

I’m on my maiden voyage with my ‘23 Rockwood 1910ESP and the ceiling exhaust fan quit working. There’s no fuse specifically dedicated to it. Does anyone know why it just stopped?

Not enough info. Test the wires powering the fan motor to see in there's power to it with it in the "ON" position.

Ceiling lights working? The ceiling exhaust fan is typically on the same 12vDC fuse but don't ask me which fuse.

Does this fan have a wall switch, or is it switched at the fan itself?

Since it’s on the maiden voyage, then possibly a) the fan died an early death, or b) the installer did a poor job with the wiring. Remove the inside trim and see if 12 volts is present at the fan.

If you were to find an open fuse, a and b still apply. There would be a fault somewhere if the fuse opened due to overcurrent.

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the Tent Camper and Popup section for better help from other Popup owners.

"Exhaust Fan"? Just to verify, you are talking about the "room ceiling fan" and not the stove top fan, right? In all cases, every electrical device I know of has a fuse somewhere.

No, this is a “room ceiling fan”. It operates on 120vAC and has no fuse.

Correct. It also does not exhaust.

Based on a YT video I just watched of that particular make and model, I'm guessing the OP is talking about the exhaust fan in their ceiling.

Based on that photo…I have seen a small inline fuse on some brands in between the plastic insert you see and the one that actually holds the fan. It might even be the small black item located opposite the vent lid crank. I see 4 corner screws to remove it to see in between.

Some of those fans require the vent to be opened a certain amount to operate. Try opening the vent cover further. Also some are temp operated..

The word exhaust fan puzzled me, lol. I would call it a ventilation fan. When I had the same problem with my kitchen exhaust fan, I discovered that there is a small fuse in the fan housing that will break (12v fan) if the temp reaches a certain level. This is purportedly a safety feature to prevent the fan from accelerating the spread of a fire.

I am not a fire safety expert, but could this also be true of a ventilation fan in an RV ceiling?

Since these posts are in the pop-up section, I assumed this was a ceiling mounted vent fan.

It is your privilege to identify as a proponent of the use of "ventilation fan". I think more of us would identify as proponents of calling these fans "exhaust fans" since they exhaust hot/stinky air out of an RV. The output of an RV furnace is also called exhaust, not furnace ventilation.

Doesn't matter what you call it. In a PUP, there is a cut-off switch for all 12V items mounted on the roof. In a PUP, this switch is usually located where the galley activates it when lowered for towing, shutting off power to all 12V items in the roof (lights, fan). These items will be on a single fuse in the fuse panel.

Most vent fans also have a fuse within the fan itself. And as was mentioned, most vent fans will not operate unless the cover is opened a certain amount. These are all items to check when the fan doesn't work.

At this point this entire thread is academic. No response from the OP.
Another "drive-by post".

He's on the camper's maiden trip and it's been less than 2 days. Hardly a "Drive by."

For those thinking this is 5' diameter ceiling fan look at the first line of the note and highlight the camper description, highlight it, and right click.

You'll end up here.

Obviously an exhaust fan in a popup, not a 5th wheel or motor home.
